YIKES

I got four paragraphs written to introduce myself on this thing, and then i got the bright idea i wanted to switch fonts. well, i pushed the button to get it switched to "rich text" and POOF! my typing all disappeared. Yet i cannot find the proper key to set the font anyway.

computers are my friend

i think

or maybe not

introduction stuff--i will see how much of it i can remember.

it is supposed to be warmer here today. that should improve my disposition. i do not like cold, or winter, or ice, or snow. so naturally i live in the coldest place around--well, one of the coldest places in the country, anyway...not "the" coldest, but close

i am allergic to winter. i am a summertime kid. old and boring, but i still refer to myself as a "kid" in such things

i do boring very well, according to my youngest daughter. it may be the best talent i have, but that is ok

today is Ash Wednesday, and Monday is Valentines Day. i am not ready for either of them, but i am still not ready for Christmas or New Years and they both happened anyway. stuff will happen whether i am ready for it or not, and life as we know it will continue. i find that a comforting mantra

news flash for me...the spellcheck key on here does not automatically capitalize my "i" into "I"

after using the autocorrect on my normal "word" program for so long, I am not very good at bothering to use the capital letters the way I should

computers are my friend, right?

before I give in to the urge to try to jazz this up a bit, testing out fonts and colors, I think I will actually post this. My very first post on here!!!

As far as I can tell, it will take six posts to complete my introduction. At least. I am still checking out how to work this thing, mostly just playing and experimenting with features.

if I was not doing this instead of working on here like I ought to be doing, I'd probably be playing solitaire anyway. But I figure I can play around until 9 and then I will have to get some work done. And so in a few minutes I will get up and make a pot of coffee and then sit down and get some work done on the computer instead of playing on it.

it is a gloomy day today. very grey. hopefully the sun will show up soon. I prefer sunny days. if I controlled the weather, the sun would shine bright every day. but they won't let me control the weather, so it is grey and gloomy instead.

introduction stuff. I feel like I should be singing this to the tune of Tom T Hall, "I like little baby ducks, and old pickup trucks, ...."

but that is NOT gonna happen.

I do not sing. my singing voice is such that the fire department can ask me to sing when they want to clear out a building in a hurry! People will exit very very very quick as soon as I  begin to sing. They will leave the area by leaping out windows if they have to!

so I don't sing. I do like babies, but not necessarily baby ducks. baby ducks are cute, I guess, but they are not anything I am likely to encounter very often around here.

time to get to work

me-ness

every time I have started to say stuff about "me" as an intro, I have segued into computer issues instead. so this is going to list the 10 best things about me

1-I like my husband. I do not want to trade him in. Strangle him at times, yes...it was a very REAL possibility on Saturday, but I resisted the urge.

2-I like my kids. They all have their days to be the "favorite" kid. On a good day, each kid is the favorite kid.

3- I am a good cook.

4- I am loyal

5- I am friendly

6- I volunteer for things that matter to me.

7- I am pretty laid back. I have a few hot buttons that will send me over the edge, but I am pretty mellow

8- I am frugal, thrifty...in a word, CHEAP

9- I am kind. I care about other people's feelings

10--if I could only list "brave" here, I could be a boy scout, but I am not very brave at all. more of a coward. so I will settle for being Lassie instead of a boy scout. Lassie is my role model. she jumps in to help where she can, and goes for help from somebody else if she cannot solve the problem. Lassie should run the world.
